research on actors, plots, directors and settings.

As we know many people tend to watch a film based on who's in it. by this i mean the actors of course and that's why using more of the budget on a good actor can attract more viewers therefore creating a larger turnover. the plot has probably got to be the most important category when overseeing the creation of the film itself because the plot is what catches the attention of the audience and what also keeps them on the edge and that's what horror fans are looking for. you can have all the best actors in the world in your film but if the plot is no good then the film is no good. this is why we had to do alot of thinking when it came down to us creating our plot. these two key points also intertwine with having a good director and also having great settings to make the perfect horror film.

A good plot

when performing some individual research i realised that the specific target audience that we originally aimed our film at enjoyed more sy-fi thrillers which are like aliens and ghosts and other such things like that. i personally believe that a good plot has to contain the key factors that can keep an audience pinned to their seat making them not want to leave and will continue to watch the film right until the very end. i believe that a good plot also needs to have that one thing that separates it from any other film, now this can be many things but one thing i think makes a good plot is keeping the unknown factor, keeping everything secretive till the very end. this is what i think makes a good plot.

Actors

In most films the actors are renowned for drawing the fans into the cinemas to maximise sales and increase profit. And this is what most producers go for because it is possibly the best way to be successful in the creation of your film. and this is purely because people sometimes decide to watch a film based on
who's in it. and the films that succeed without the use of famous, well known actors are the special films that stay with you for all of your years to come.

Settings

Within a film there has to be very well planned out designed scene which can capture the viewers imagination, making them decided on what they thinks going to happen next. the choice of setting is key to the success of the film, because it allows all the script and main parts of the film to glue together and work. settings literally can be anything, but good settings are those vast parts of the world that seem magical to any other boring sceptical of everyday life. within horror dark settings are always the favourite choice for the producer because this is what keeps the audience on the edge, and this is what horror fans search for, just waiting for something to jump out on them.
